NATIONAL EAT A HOAGIE DAY | SEPTEMBER 14National Eat a Hoagie Day on September 14th promotes a sandwich which is also known as a grinder, sub or hero. You can also order a po’boy, torpedo or an Italian sandwich to celebrate!#NationalHoagieDayThe hoagie consists of meats, cheeses, vegetables, sauces, and seasonings on a long roll of Italian or French bread However, the origin of this giant sandwich is a bit of a mystery. The epicenter of the controversy seems to be eastern Pennsylvania between the DiCostanzas and DePalma’s. Both lay claim to being the first to make the hoagie. One family claims to have been making the sandwich since 1923 and the other since 1925. But who has the proof?#RealEstateMiami #SouthFloridaRealEstate #RealEstateNorthMiamiBeach #NorthMiamiBeachRealEstate #MiamiRealEstate #RealEstate #Realtor #houseexpert #househunting #home #RealEstateAgent #RealEstateBroker #RealEstateExpert #RealEstateForSale #Realty #Broker #HomeForSale #HouseForSale #PropertyForSale #HomeForSaleMiami #HomeForSaleSouthFlorida

National Eat A Hoagie DayThe original #hoagie is what is now referred to as an “Italian Hoagie” which includes a variety of traditional Italian lunch meats, including dry salami, mortadella, capicolla, and provolone served with lettuce, tomato and onions with a light vinegar and oil dressing. The most widely believed origin story for this sandwich is that it originated in Philadelphia. According to a report in a 1953 article in The Philadelphia Bulletin, the hoagie was started by Italians working at WWI-era shipyards in Philadelphia. This area was known as Hog Island and it’s where emergency shipping was produced for America’s war effort. According to this story, workers would put various meats, cheeses, and vegetables between two slices of bread. These sandwiches became known as hoagies.#NationalEatAHoagieDay #FoodOfTheDay #NobertSales #Food #FoodSolutions #FoodService #FoodServiceSolutions #FoodSales #WeKnowFood #FoodConsultant #FoodDude

Choose to make your burgers leaner and greener. For a heart-healthy burger, you can easily use lean meat, turkey, chicken, salmon or a veggie patty and do away with any cheese. Swap out the buns for lettuce, portobello mushrooms, or sweet potato rounds to cut the carbs.#Bankmed#JunkFoodDay#HealthTip
