Sir Rod Stewart dropped his trousers as an 'embarrassing dad' prank at his son's lavish wedding over the weekend.

The musician, 79, was standing at a bar waiting for a drink alongside his youngest son Aiden, 13, when he decided to pull down his white suit trousers.

He wrote on Instagram: 'How to embarrass your youngest at the hotel bar after a long weekend of activities'.

Earlier in the day, Rod and his wife Penny Lancaster watched his 29-year-old son Liam tie the knot to partner Nicole Artukovich in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Ice hockey star Liam announced his engagement to project manager Nicole last July, two months before they welcomed their first child together, a son called Louie.

However before the official wedding ceremony had even begun, the celebrations started with a Wedding Eve party.

Sharing a snap from the five star Hotel Excelsior, situated on the beach just five minutes walk from Dubrovnik's Old Town in Croatia, the setting looked beautiful.

With a range of rooms on offer, the Villa Odak Deluxe room with a sea view and double balcony costs just over £1000 per night, with other double rooms ranging from £700-900 a night.

As the guest gathered for sunset beside the palm trees the party began as Liam kept it casual in an open collared white shirt and grey suit jacket.

Meanwhile his wife to be Nicole opted for a white mini dress and gold heels.

Enjoying a toast with his dad, Liam shared a snap of Rod holding some a Martini co*cktail as they captioned the pic 'The Bhoys'.

The pair looked as though they had enjoyed the party asRod looked stylish in his white suit.

Elsewhere the happy couple posed on the balcony as a friend captioned the snap: 'Meet the Stewarts' ahead of their big day on Friday.

Another video showed the party truly getting started as the purple and blue lights flashed while the guests enjoyed a dance and some more beers.

Liam and Nicole announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post last July as the paired smiled while staring lovingly into each other's eyes and simply captioned it 'Forever' with a ring emoji.

And after a year of preparations the two finally tied the knot as they celebrated with both his father Rod and mother Rachel Hunter, who was the musician's second wife.

The pair were also joined by the star's now wife Penny and their children Alistair, 18, and Aiden.

The happy news came less than two months after the couple welcomed their first son together, Louis, on May 12, as Liam shared an adorable snap of the baby dressed in a Celtic football top and hat.

He wrote: 'Welcome lad you American, British, Croatian, Kiwi. Louie Mark Roderick Stewart 5.12.23.' Louis' middle name, Roderick, is an ode to the Grammy winner.'

Meanwhile Rod's daughter Ruby welcomed Otis Stewart Kalick with her fiancé Jake Kalic on May 9 as Rod marked both new additions with a sweet post holding both babies.
