Countermeasures against Xeno'jiiva

Recommended Weapon Element and Armor Skills

Recommended Weapon Element
Any Element Weapon Xeno'jiiva is neutral in terms of weaknesses to element, so you can bring whatever element you want. Though it should be noted that if you are bringing the Dragonproof Mantle for this fight to counter Xeno'jiiva's Dragonblight, it might be useful to bring dragon weapons for the extra damage boost.
Poison Weapon Xeno'jiiva is extra weak to poison, so you can also bring a poison weapon if you have a strong one.
Recommended Armor Skills
Fire Resistance A lot of Xeno'jiiva's attacks are fire-based, so stacking Fire Resistance can mitigate some of his damage.
Tremor Resistance Xeno'jiiva can cause a lot of tremor that will incapacitate you, so getting Tremor Resistance can be helpful.
Blight Resistance Xeno'jiiva inflicts both Fireblight and Dragonblight, so you can get Blight Resistance to Lvl 3 if you are having problem with these.
Evade Window Evade Window can help you dodge Velkhana's attacks by adding invicibility frames to your evade.
Health Boost Having more health never hurts!
Earplugs Xeno'jiiva has a big roar, so getting Earplugs Lvl 5 would be immensely helpful.

How to Beat Xeno'jiiva

Xeno'jiiva Tips
・Use collapsable rocks in area 1・Shoot Xeno'jiiva using your slinger・Fire Resistance is recommended

Collapsable Rocks

Xeno'jiiva Weakness and Strategy Guide | Monster Hunter World (MHW)|Game8 (5)
In the first area where you will have to fight Xeno'jiiva, there will be four collapsable crystals that you can drop to Xeno'jiiva using your slinger to deal massive damage.

Flying Xeno'jiiva

In the second area of the Xeno'jiiva fight, he will sometimes fly and perform a laser attack from the sky. You can easily shut this down by shooting him with Crystal Burst using your slinger to bring him down and cancel the attack.

Building Up Fire Resistance

It is important to build up your Fire Resistance to at least level 3 to completely counter most of Xeno'jiiva's attacks since they can inflict Fireblight. If it is not possible to build up your Fire Resistance, it is also a good idea to start using the Fireproof Mantle instead.

Different States

Normal State Critical State

Xeno'jiiva Weakness and Strategy Guide | Monster Hunter World (MHW)|Game8 (7)

Xeno'Jiva shifts to the critical state after a certain period of time. When Xeno'Jiva reaches the critical state, his skin will be more vulnerable to your attacks but you will need to play safely to learn his movements since his attack patterns will slightly change.

Big Bang Attack

Xeno'jiiva Weakness and Strategy Guide | Monster Hunter World (MHW)|Game8 (8)
Xeno'jiiva's big bang attack during the critical state is completely different from the normal state. A large explosion is now added and it can deal massive damage to anyone around his front legs. Try to move away from his legs when he leans forward to avoid this attack.

Energy Laser

Xeno'jiiva uses an energy laser attack when he accumulates a certain amount of energy on his chest. Immediately sheath your weapon and move away from the laser energy when Xeno'jiiva stands on his hind legs. You can attack him during this situation but watch out for the heat damage from the laser and the tremors when Xeno'jiiva sinks into the ground.

Attacking the Front Legs

During the Xeno'jiiva fight, it is highly recommended that you focus all of your attacks on his front legs since they are easy to reach and much more vulnerable than the hind legs.
